Anyone can drive this mare.
Generally with "two fingers" The owner, who had never
been around horses learned to jog and do rated miles
with her. Trained at Pinehurst this winter where her
amateur owner qualified her. She can be put
anywhere you need her on the racetrack.
Although she is 5, she had
nearly two years off due to her having troubles which
were corrected with throat surgery and her owner/trainer
being unable to train her for several months, and she
was kicked when she was just about to race last year.
She is 100 percent good to go. We did her first
injections last week on a hind ankle, She has not had
any breathing problems since we started racing her this
year. She is in excellent condition, sound except for
minor imperfections. She is not fast enough to be
competitive at Tioga Downs where we live and race
although she is very competitive at Monticello and can
be a superhorse in New England Fairs or perhaps
Plainridge, She has not gotten close to reaching her
potential and an experienced trainer will certainly be
able to get a few more seconds out of her. I train her
just in 2:20 between races and we don't pre-race our
horses except with electrolytes. This is a horse anyone
can take to drive in fairs or on a half mile track or
larger and do well. We love her like a pet and she tries
her best do race her best and is learning each week how
to be a better race horse. |
